Acquisition of Ambipur by BlueSun

The P&G Company and PHI Industrial, a Spanish-based PE Fund, throughout its affiliate company BlueSun, have reached an agreement whereby BlueSun has acquired the Ambipur business for Toilet Bowl Cleaners and Toilet Bowl Fresheners in the European Market and South Africa.

It is the second transaction between P&G and PHI Industrial since 2016, when the Spanish Fund acquired a detergent manufacturing plant in Mataró from P&G, as well as several local brands in Europe, Egypt and Israel – current business of BlueSun.

This acquisition consolidates BlueSun’s business plan to bet on the growth of its brands, adding to its portfolio a renowned brand such as Ambipur, and allowing the access to new product categories and geographical markets.

With this transaction PHI Industrial consolidates its position as a strong partner for multinationals such as Procter & Gamble, by acquiring non-core assets and becoming a relevant operational partner for them.

P&G will continue the focus on the Ambipur/Febreze Air Care business, as a strategic pillar of the Home Care portfolio.
