PHI Industrial Acquisitions formalizes its tenth investment with the acquisition of La Antigua Lavandera
On September 30th, PHI Industrial Acquisitions carried out its tenth acquisition since commencing its activity in 2006.
PHI reached an agreement with the German multinational Henkel to acquire its liquid manufacturing plant specialized in bleach production, located in Alcala de Guadaira, in Seville. The plant will now be called La Antigua Lavandera.
La Antigua Lavandera starts this new phase headed by Jorge Escudero, who joined the project as Managing Director. Jorge has extensive experience in the food and beverage sector after working in Agua Mineral San Benedetto, Segafredo Zanetti and Campofrío, among others.
With the agreement of the Seville manufacturing centre, the industrial investor confirmed his intention to keep all current employment and posts in the production plant of Alcalá de Guadaira. Moreover, this agreement neither affects the commercialization of the three bleach brands, “Neutrex”, “Conejo”, and “Estrella”, which Henkel will continue selling in Spain.
This new acquisition confirms PHI’s positioning as the ideal buyer of non-strategic businesses from multinational companies. This industrial investor provides comfort on the future of the acquired business, establishing, in most cases, a close commercial and strategic relationship with the seller (as with Henkel). Additionally, it is able to carry out transactions in a short time and with a high level of transaction security. So far, already six international companies have entrusted PHI with its non-core assets, including companies such as Agbar, SPIE, Evonik, SPX and, Henkel.
Currently, the PHI Industrial Acquisitions portfolio includes 6 companies under its management and 13 production plants in Europe, with a turnover of 250 million and workforce of 1.500 employees. The main objective of PHI in all its acquisitions is to ensure the long term viability of its portfolio companies as profitable and independent companies.
