Torraval Cooling consolidates itself in the foreign market to continue growing
The Torraval Cooling company, a benchmark in the design, conception, manufacture and assembly of evaporative cooling equipment, will grow around 12% in its turnover this year thanks to the maintenance of its contracts in the State and growth abroad.
Torraval Cooling has installed more than 12,000 cooling towers around the world since 1967, thanks to its know-how, the quality and reliability of its products, as well as the level and professionalism of its maintenance service. It supplies a wide range of towers, both induced and forced draft, open or closed, as well as plate heat exchangers.
After leaving the multinational SPX in December 2010, the Basque firm was forced to completely restructure the company, which has managed to balance its accounts and turn a profit within two years. Torraval Cooling has a current staff of 20 people in a warehouse of 1,500 square meters and 400 of offices, which if in 2010 it had a turnover of 3.24 million, last year it reached five million and this year it plans to improve it by 12%.
This increase has come hand in hand with a change in all sectors of the company, from its management ERP to 2D to 3D design programs, new calculation software and the construction of a test tower. This infrastructure has been installed in a client’s company to obtain answers in real situations, not in a laboratory. The tower, in which they have invested around 50,000 euros, has a series of equipment, sensors and unit monitoring systems that allows Torraval Cooling to improve its designs, test new combinations, fillings and increase the efficiency of the equipment in general.
Investments
The company will allocate more than 150,000 euros to investments in its R&D and design systems throughout this year. It has three people dedicated to the development of its R&D, who are responsible for improving its developments, generating a simpler and more effective quality system, focused on reducing tower maintenance and measuring the efficiency of the solution implemented for its clients. , producing greater added value to their products.
This year they will invest around 150,000 euros in improving, mainly their R&D systems.
The international recognition of their equipment has led them to try to refocus their sales abroad, mainly in Europe, the Maghreb and American countries such as Mexico, Peru and Brazil, where they are already present. And this year its objective is to consolidate itself in those markets in which it works before addressing new ones. In addition, it is closing several agreements with European companies to expand its product range. In this way, Torraval Cooling wants to strengthen itself to achieve exports of 65% of its turnover in the shortest possible time.
Regarding quality certificates, Torraval Cooling has ISO 9001 quality and 14001 environmental standards in its facilities in the Torrelarragoiti industrial estate, in Zamudio (Bizkaia).
Its clients are widely distributed, mainly in the steel, metallurgical, paper and food industries sectors. In the national market, they have placed their cooling towers in areas such as Madrid, Extremadura, Andalusia or Levante.
